H.E. President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali Delivered a Video Message to The 16th China-LAC Business Summit

On November 2, the 16th China-LAC(Latin America and the Caribbean) Business Summit convened under the auspicious theme 'Open Innovation, Shared Development,' gathering over 1,000 participants, including government officials, leaders of international organizations, and business sector representatives from China and LAC countries. The Summit was founded in 2007, and it is China's first institutional economic and trade promotion platform for the LAC region. H.E. President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali of Guyana delivered a video message at the opening ceremony.

President Ali stated that the challenges we face today include the climate, energy and food crisis and issues relating to the global supply chain. These challenges are daunting, but by no means insurmountable. The solutions to our shared challenges lie in our ability, to collaborate to build bridges, and to foster a spirit of togetherness. China has been a consistent advocate for stronger ties with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Its steadfast commitment to collaboration and partnership has borne fruit over the years. This summit represents yet another remarkable opportunity for us to further this enterprise together. We can continue to create the conditions to facilitate, improve business and trade between China and the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Dr.Peter Ramsaroop, Chief Executive Officer of Guyana Investment Office, witnessed the significant gathering. He was a lead panelist in the China-LAC Green Economy Cooperation Symposium of the summit, sharing his vision of Guyana's commitment to sustainable development and its role in promoting a green economy on the global stage.
