On August 22nd, Ambassador Guo Haiyan and Hon. Minister of Health Anthony jointly attended the Resident Training Graduation Ceremony. Medical Director of Georgetown Public Hospital Dr. Rambaran, the 18th Chinese Medical Team and 13 Guyanese medical specialists participating the training also attended.
The Resident Training Program was initiated by the Embassy and the Ministry of Health in 2022, supported by the Health Commission of Chinese Jiangsu Province and implemented by Chinese Medical Team.
During H.E. President Ali’s recent visit to China, China and Guyana issued a joint statement in which it’s indicated that the two countries agreed to expand their collaboration in the field of health by exchanging best practices and skills.
