On August 29th, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Mrs.Guo Haiyan, accompanied by Embassy’s Counselor(Economic and Commercial Affairs) Mr.Li Hanqing, paid a courtesy call on Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry(GCCI), and discussed with the GCCI President Mr.Kester Hutson, and other members of GCCI’s Executive Management Committee including Junior Vice President Mr.Gavin Ramsoondar, Treasurer Mr.Orson Ferguson, Secretary Ms.Kathy Smith.
Ambassador Guo highlighted the role of local private sector in Guyana’s social and economic development and noted the importance of establishing partnership between business communities of the two countries to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation. She welcomed local business to participate in the exhibitions to be held in China, such as Canton Fair, China International Import Expo and China International Supply Chain Expo.
